the unhurry way

The Unhurry uses life-coaching as its foundation and weaves in yoga and mindfulness techniques in light-hearted ways that fit into the cultural context of young people today. Coaching is the bridge to action. It utilizes impactful and thought-provoking tools and techniques that fit right into our world, to support the ongoing process of discovery and growth. Coaching helps clarify goals and identify obstacles in order to move forward and enables us to take control of our life and move towards our dreams, in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Mindfulness builds awareness and connects us to the sometimes unseen magic of now. It gets us out of our heads and into our physical lives, feeling and experiencing the present moment, without judgment. Coaching, paired with mindfulness, is an incredibly powerful experience in guiding the process of slow growth. And while it appears to feel serious, when you start to live more mindfully, you can see it’s anything but intense. Mindfulness helps return us to the joy we felt as children. It inspires us to remember our simple, whole nature.

I often reflect on my personal hardships growing up, and can’t imagine how differently my teens and 20s would have been if I found this kind of support. Coming-of-age is a time to discover who we are and who we dream to become! A time to gain clarity around our goals and develop habits that support them. These years are practice grounds to learn how to love ourselves and craft a path forward that feels right in our hearts.

unhurry: it’s a process

The unhurry coaching process takes inspiration from our journey through life! As newborns, we start out lying our on backs. We rest, and relax, for months on end. Slowly we find our hands and knees and eventually we crawl and discover the strength to stand, walk and explore! This exploration goes on throughout our lives, and so does the falling down… and getting back up again. We’re endlessly learning and growing! Failing and thriving!

When you embark on a journey with The Unhurry, the process is reflective of this beautiful order. We start slow, releasing the hurry in our veins. We explore ourselves and our lives, and uncover tidbits along the way that help us dream up new paths forward. And finally, we move ahead, discovering new people, places and things that truly make us feel joyful. The goal is to gain a newfound respect for rest, reconnection and revival that we weave into the rest of our lives. Below, you’ll learn a bit more about the four phases of The Unhurry process. If you’d like to explore working together, reach out via the contact page to schedule a complimentary introductory phone call.

the phases

  1. Reflect

  • The first phase of our program is all about grounding down. Many of us need to release the hurry that has become our lives, and this phase requires patience and trust that slowing down will help us gain deep clarity around the way forward. We breathe, relax, rest, reflect and feel into the art of undoing.

When we retrain our brain to slow down and catch our breath, we start to feel the power of undoing.

2. Reconnect

  • The second phase starts to weave in mindfulness practices to help bring more awareness to ourselves and our feelings. This phase starts the path of slow growth life coaching. We sit tall and open-hearted as we dig deep into our selves and our lives.

We re-ground in who we are and step away from our challenges, to look back at them with distance and clarity.

3. Revive

  • Our third phase is rooted in intentional action. We begin to craft new behaviors and start working towards our goals, while also prioritizing and practicing rest and wellbeing. What a concept! It seems hard to believe that we can achieve our goals and live in a state of true peace. But it is possible, and it’s how we live wholeheartedly.

We set forth building new habits, grounded in our truth and goals, helping us step into who we're becoming.

4. Reimagine

  • Our fourth phase is where we embrace the life-long process of slow growth, feeling a newfound sense of alignment and freedom and finding gratitude in the little things, more and more each day.

We move at a graceful pace today and have tools and practices in place to live and grow slow… in our teens years and beyond.
